This post touches on a couple of my interests: (1) Science fiction, specifically the author Fred Pohl, who is apparently writing a blog on science fiction and science, and (2) Alan Turing, the absolutely brilliant mathematician who was driven to suicide after being tortured by the British government in an attempt to "cure" his homosexuality.
