Where Were the Unions in the Mine Disaster?

Rush Limbough has the absolute huge clanking balls to ask this question.  When has he ever said or done anything that would support labor unions?

The answer, of course, is that Upper Big Branch Mine is non-union, like almost all of Massey's mines, is non-union.  There were attempts to unionize and though a majority of the miners indicated support for a Union, Don Blankenship, CEO, threatened the workers iwth loss of their jobs.

Unions have their problems, too, but the post points out that unionized mines have better safety records.
