"This year, the McCain campaign keeps making assertions that anyone with an Internet connection can disprove in a minute." Krugman's point is that how a candidate runs a campaign can say volumes about how they will run the country, and that the way the McCain campaign has been run argues that a McCain administration might be even worse than that of George W. Bush. I found maybe most interesting Krugman's comment that he was first suspicious of the Bush administration's arguments for the Iraq war because they sounded too much like his lies during the 2000 campaign about taxes, spending, and Social Security. Since Krugman is an economist, he knew what the lies were.
