A 1699 Dictionary of Slang

Oxford's Bodlien Library has republished this first known English dictionary of slang, which was found in its collection.  The article lists some of the amusing definitions.  It reminds me of the unusual Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary of Unusual, Obscure, and Preposterous Words which I saw over 20 years ago and still remember that a "thundermug" was a chamber pot and a "prick-me-dainty" was a dandy.
