| Your review | Charlaine Harris writes GOOD mystery series. My favorite is her Sookie Stackhouse series, about a telepath dealing with all sorts of supernatural characters. But it must be admitted that the Harper Connelly series, of which Grave Surprise is the second, beats any series for originality of conception. Harper was struck by lighting when she was 15, and since then has been able to know if she passes over a body and can tell what the cause of death for that body was. In this outing, Harper and her stepbrother manager, Tolliver, are asked to do a demonstration for a college class on he paranormal. Harper finds the body of a little girl that she had failed to find a couple of years previously. The "coincidence" looks very bad, and Harper and Tolliver are forced to find the killer out of self-defense. Good book, interesting plot. |
